Definition
The scope of the Admitted patient palliative care national minimum data set (NMDS) is admitted patients receiving palliative care in all public and private acute hospitals, and free standing day hospital facilities. Hospitals operated by the Australian Defence Force, correctional authorities and Australia's external territories are not currently included.
Palliative care patients are identified by the data element Hospital service—care type, code N[N].Metadata items in this Data Set Specification
