Computation Rule
Description

'At risk of long term alcohol related harm' is defined according to the 2001 National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines: for males, equivalent to 29 or more drinks per week, and for females, 15 or more drinks per week.

Excludes people who have not consumed alcohol in past 12 months.

Rates are directly age-standardised to the 2001 Australian population.

Analysis by remoteness and SEIFA Index of Relative Socio-economic Disadvantage (IRSD) is based on usual residence of person.

Presented as a percentage

95% confidence intervals and relative standard errors are calculated for rates.
