Definition
A score given at the time of diagnosis outlining the extent to which a person’s disease affects their daily living abilities. This is based on assessment by a treating health professional.
Performance status at diagnosis is an important prognostic indicator which is used to determine appropriate treatment, assess how the disease has progressed, and for the statistical analyses of outcome adjusted by performance status.References
