Guide for use:

This is to be recorded for each pregnancy.

This data element includes live births and stillbirths of 20 weeks gestation or 400 grams birthweight.

This data element excludes:

  • the current pregnancy;
  • pregnancies resulting in spontaneous or induced abortions before 20 weeks gestation; and
  • ectopic pregnancies.

A primigravida (a woman pregnant for the first time) has a parity of 0.
